ABOUT US

Who We Are

Walter’s Workshop is a community repair workshop. We operate from Enterprise House every Friday morning from 10am till 12pm. Run by volunteers with a wide range of skills, we will do our best to fix your broken items, or signpost you to a local tradesman who can.

So far, we have repaired hundreds of items, including radios, chairs, a wall clock and a doll’s house complete with miniature furniture. We have also made swift boxes and refurbished a trailer for the Parish Paths Partnership.

Do You Like Fixing Things?

If you’d like to find out how you can get involved, contact us via our Facebook page or drop by on a Friday morning for a chat. We’d love to meet you and are always looking for new volunteers to help us expand our skills.

How We Started

In the early part of 2021 a call came from ESWS for those who were interested in forming a repair and reuse group. Local volunteers with varied skills and interests came forward and Walter’s Workshop was born.

We became a member of the international ‘Repair Cafe‘ movement giving us access to sound guidance, support and our own insurance.

"Walter's Workshop is so much more than a repair shop, offering a friendly, welcoming and inclusive space for anybody who needs it."
